Omnea is a trusted payment partner and leading Fintech in Africa, specialising in secure integration, data exchange, and payments for individuals and businesses. Originally founded as Trustlink in 1999, the company rebranded to Omnea in 2023 as part of a strategic pivot. Today, Omnea is relied on by major banks and enterprises across Africa, processing over 900,000 payment transactions monthly and more than 600,000 files securely through its data exchange solutions.
In preparation for a potential capital raise, Omnea required a valuation and appropriate investor materials to support the process. Step was engaged as an independent advisor to deliver a valuation of the business and develop a high-level investor memorandum (IM) to be used in engaging potential investors.
Step ran two parallel workstreams: a valuation workstream and an IM development workstream. The purpose of the valuation was to determine a fair and reasonable equity value for the entity. Appropriate valuations methodologies were applied given the nature and structure of the business and the maturity of the operating entities. Once the valuation range had been established and agreed, Step worked closely with the management team to develop a concise, high-level IM.
Step delivered two final outputs to the Omnea team: a valuation report and a professionally designed investor memorandum. The valuation was packaged in a clear, user-friendly format, complete with supporting visuals, analysis and commentary to guide internal decision-making and inform potential investor discussions. The IM was delivered as a high-quality PowerPoint presentation, enabling the team to communicate their offering clearly and effectively, both internally and externally. Through a collaborative and intentional process, Step also supported the Omnea team in simplifying a complex business structure and refining the narrative into a compelling and digestible format. This not only improved internal alignment but also empowered the team to articulate their value proposition more confidently.
