Redtree Capital has a track record of continuous growth, and having recently completed a significant capital raise, they were in need of resetting the strategic direction of the business for the next three years, to continue the growth trajectory and unlock value for all stakeholders. Management approached Step Advisory to assist with running a facilitated process to assist them in navigating key strategic decisions and formulating a robust strategy for them to execute over the next three years. One of the key outcomes they were hoping to achieve during the process was buy-in and alignment with the management team and shareholders.

Step Advisory ran a structured facilitation process that assisted in framing the strategic choices the business has and how future potential growth can be achieved. Step firstly assisted Redtree in defining and articulating the goals or outcomes they were aiming to achieve with their strategy. We then helped the Redtree team prioritise the key strategic elements to focus on that would unlock the growth they desire. The final component was assisting in determining the ever elusive “How”. This is where the strategy becomes practical, as we assisted in unpacking what needs to be done to successfully execute on the strategy.

Step’s structured facilitation process included engaging with the management team and shareholders individually to get their views and perspectives on a variety of topics. We then hosting a two-day strategy facilitation workshop at an off-site location. We then consolidated and captured all the outcomes appropriately.

Step Advisory delivered a well-articulated strategy presentation that outlined key focus areas and clear objectives to guide the business for the next three years. The strategy emphasised accountability and practical implementation. While the full impact will be seen in time, the process yielded encouraging results, with the management team and shareholders aligning with a clear sense of what needs to be done both in the long term and over the immediate term to get traction in execution.
